Between July and October, Northern Serengeti becomes the stage for one of nature's greatest spectacles: the Great Wildebeest Migration. First, thousands of wildebeest and zebras gather at the Mara River. Then they make the dramatic crossing, while giant Nile crocodiles and predators wait nearby.

Day 01 :

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Your unforgettable Great Migration Joining Group Safari begins with an early morning departure from Arusha. First, meet your professional safari guide and fellow travelers. Then head to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania's hidden gems and a top wildlife destination in East Africa.

Tarangire is famous for its giant baobab trees, ancient landscapes and seasonal swamps. It also has one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Africa. During your full-day game drive, keep your camera ready for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and buffaloes. Look out for impalas, warthogs, ostriches and many bird species as well.

The Tarangire River attracts wildlife all year, so game viewing here is exceptional. Finally, in the late afternoon, drive to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 02 :

Mto wa Mbu – Ngorongoro Highlands – Central Serengeti

After breakfast, set off towards the legendary Serengeti National Park, passing through the beautiful Ngorongoro Highlands. This is one of the most breathtaking drives in Tanzania. Every hour reveals a different landscape, from lush forests and fertile highlands to rolling hills, Maasai villages and volcanic scenery. Finally, you reach the vast golden plains that make the Serengeti one of the world's greatest wildlife destinations.

Once inside Serengeti National Park, enjoy an afternoon game drive across the endless plains. For example, look for lions resting on kopjes, elephants, and cheetahs scanning the grasslands. You may also find leopards hidden in acacia trees, as well as hyenas, giraffes, zebras and countless antelope species. Then, as the African sun sets over the savannah, arrive at your camp for dinner under the stars.

Day 03 :

Central Serengeti – Northern Serengeti (Mara River Crossing)

Today is the highlight of your safari.

After an early breakfast, set off for Northern Serengeti (Kogatende), home of the world-famous Mara River Crossing. From July to October, more than two million wildebeest migrate across the Serengeti ecosystem in search of fresh grazing. Hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles also travel with them. The dramatic river crossing is one of the most breathtaking wildlife spectacles on Earth.

Spend the day following the migration, while your experienced safari guide takes you to the best viewing spots. If nature is on your side, you watch thousands of animals plunge bravely into the crocodile-filled Mara River. At the same time, predators wait nearby. Few places in the world can offer such an unforgettable experience.

Northern Serengeti is also home to lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, topis, elands and abundant birdlife. After an extraordinary day, relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the northern Serengeti wilderness.

Day 04 :

Northern Serengeti – Central Serengeti

Wake up early for another chance to witness the Great Migration on a morning game drive in the Northern Serengeti. Early mornings often bring excellent chances to see predators such as lions, leopards and hyenas, while the migration herds continue their journey.

After lunch, begin your scenic drive back through the central Serengeti, with more wildlife sightings along the way. This region is famous for its year-round resident animals. It also offers outstanding photo opportunities across the endless plains. Finally, arrive in Central Serengeti in the late afternoon for dinner and a relaxing evening in the African bush.

Day 05 :

Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

After an early breakfast, leave the Serengeti and travel to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. Then descend more than 600 meters into the world's largest intact volcanic caldera, often called Africa's Garden of Eden.

Inside, the crater has one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the continent. It also offers one of the best chances to spot the rare and endangered Black Rhino in its natural habitat. During your game drive, you may also see lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, zebras, wildebeest, flamingos, jackals and countless other species.
