Tarangire National Park is famous for its large elephant herds, iconic baobab trees and rich variety of wildlife. Because it lies just 2 hours from Arusha, it is the ideal safari destination for a one-day adventure.

During your visit, expect to see elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo and a wide variety of birds. This is especially true in the dry season, when animals gather around the Tarangire River.

Itinerary

Day 1: :
Tarangire Day Trip Itinerary

Morning Pickup: First, you leave Arusha early in the morning (around 6:00 AM) with a packed breakfast.

Drive to Tarangire: Next, enjoy a scenic drive through Maasai villages and open landscapes.

Game Drive: Then spend several hours exploring the park’s different habitats, from open savannah to swampy wetlands.

Picnic Lunch: At midday, take a break at a scenic picnic site inside the park, while you watch the wildlife.

Afternoon Game Drive: Afterwards, continue your search for the Big Five and other amazing species.

Return to Arusha: Finally, arrive back in Arusha in the evening (around 6:00 PM).
