Your adventure starts with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha, usually around 5:30–6:00 AM. Meet your professional safari guide and depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in a comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof. The drive takes you through the beautiful countryside of northern Tanzania before reaching the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After completing the necessary entry formalities, descend approximately 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater and begin your game drive.
Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
The crater floor is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. Your experienced safari guide will drive through different habitats, including grasslands, woodland areas, wetlands, and the shores of Lake Magadi, looking for wildlife and excellent photography opportunities. During your game drive, you may see: lions, elephants, black rhinos, Cape buffaloes, zebras, giraffes (less commonly seen on the crater floor), wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, gazelles and other antelopes, flamingos and numerous bird species. The Ngorongoro Crater is particularly famous for its excellent opportunities to observe predators and large concentrations of grazing animals within a relatively compact area.
Picnic Lunch
At midday, enjoy a packed picnic lunch at a designated picnic area. Depending on the day's conditions and park regulations, your guide will select an appropriate location. After lunch, continue exploring the crater floor with your guide. Enjoy your final wildlife sightings before beginning the ascent out of the crater.
Return to Arusha
In the afternoon, leave the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and begin the drive back to Arusha.
Arrive in Arusha in the evening, approximately 7:00–9:00 PM, depending on road and traffic conditions. You will be dropped off at your hotel or another agreed location.
