Overview

Embark on the ultimate Mount Kilimanjaro climbing adventure with our 7-Day Lemosho Route Trek, one of the best and most scenic routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. Renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, excellent acclimatization profile, and high summit success rate, the Lemosho Route is highly recommended for climbers seeking an unforgettable journey to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa. Beginning on the quiet western slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park, the Lemosho Route offers a peaceful start through pristine rainforest before crossing the spectacular Shira Plateau, one of the largest high-altitude plateaus in the world. Along the way, you'll trek through five unique ecological zones, including lush rainforest, heath and moorland, alpine desert, and glacier-covered summit landscapes. The Lemosho Route follows the internationally recommended "climb high, sleep low" acclimatization principle, allowing your body to adjust gradually to the altitude. This makes it one of the routes with the highest summit success rates on Mount Kilimanjaro.

At Serengeti Wildlife Safaris, we highly recommend the Lemosho Route because it offers some of the closest and clearest views of Kibo Peak and Uhuru Peak, especially from the Shira Plateau on clear days. Combined with professional mountain guides, experienced cooks, quality camping equipment, and personalized service, this route delivers one of the finest trekking experiences in Africa.
