Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha. Meet your professional safari guide and depart toward the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu. Enjoy the scenic drive through northern Tanzania before entering the Serengeti ecosystem. As you approach Ndutu, the landscape opens into vast grasslands, acacia woodland and seasonal lakes. Begin your first game drive while heading toward your accommodation. During the calving season, you may encounter large wildebeest herds, zebras, gazelles and newborn calves. After an early breakfast, head out for a full-day game drive in Ndutu.

This is the heart of your Great Migration experience. During the calving season, thousands of wildebeest gather across the short-grass plains to give birth. You may see newborn calves, mothers with their young, and large herds moving across the plains. The concentration of young animals attracts predators, creating excellent opportunities to search for: Wildebeest and newborn calves, zebras and gazelles, lions and lion prides, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, elephants and giraffes, ostriches and other birdlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing your afternoon game drive.

After breakfast, continue exploring the Ndutu and Southern Serengeti ecosystem. Today gives you another full day to follow the migration and explore different areas of the plains. Your experienced guide will monitor wildlife movements and select areas with the best opportunities for game viewing. Look for wildebeest mothers with their calves, zebra herds, gazelles, and predators around the migration. The varied habitats around Ndutu also provide excellent birdwatching opportunities. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the game drive and continue exploring throughout the afternoon. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti before beginning your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Continue through Tanzania's changing landscapes, from the open Serengeti plains toward the green, scenic Ngorongoro Highlands. Depending on your selected experience, you may enjoy a cultural visit, nature walk, or another highland activity. Later, continue to Karatu and check in at your lodge.

After breakfast, spend the day exploring the Ngorongoro Highlands. This provides a different experience from the wildlife-focused days in Ndutu. Enjoy the beautiful highland scenery, local communities, traditional agriculture, and surrounding forests. Depending on the arrangement, you may visit a local village, meet community members, or enjoy a guided nature and culture experience. After the day's activities, return to Inoga Lodge for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, depart for the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the crater for a game drive across the crater floor, home to an incredible concentration of wildlife. Keep your eyes open for: Lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, gazelles, flamingos and other birds; black rhinoceros, with luck. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before ascending and beginning your journey back to Arusha. Arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of your 6-Day Tanzania Ndutu Calving Season Safari.
