Spend time observing wildebeest mothers with their calves, zebra herds, gazelles and other plains animals. You may also encounter predators resting near the herds or actively searching for prey. For birdwatchers, Ndutu offers opportunities to see a variety of species around seasonal lakes, grasslands and woodland habitats. Depending on the season, sightings may include flamingos and other waterbirds around the lakes, as well as raptors and colorful savanna birds. After breakfast, begin your game drive and explore areas where wildlife activity has recently been reported. Your guide will focus on finding predators and observing natural behavior. Lions may be seen resting after a hunt, cheetahs scanning the open plains, while hyenas can often be found moving through areas where wildebeest and other herbivores are concentrated. This is also an excellent day for wildlife photography, as spending several days in the same ecosystem gives you time to wait for interesting behavior rather than simply searching for a long list of species.
