Day 01 :

Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Karatu

Your 5-day Ndutu Calving Season Safari begins in the morning with a scenic drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. It is one of Tanzania’s most beautiful and wildlife-rich parks.

On arrival, you enjoy a full-day game drive through Tarangire’s spectacular landscape of ancient baobab trees, seasonal swamps and the Tarangire River. The river attracts wildlife all year round, so this is an excellent place to begin your safari.

During the game drive, keep your eyes open for large elephant herds, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and buffalo. You may also spot impalas, gazelles and many bird species. Tarangire is especially famous for its elephants, and it offers excellent opportunities for wildlife photography.

At midday, you enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, surrounded by the sounds and scenery of the African wilderness. Then you continue with an afternoon game drive before leaving the park and driving toward Karatu. Finally, you arrive at Inoga in the evening. Day 02 :

Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Ndutu

After an early breakfast, you descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The crater offers excellent chances to see lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and hyenas. With luck, you may also spot the endangered black rhino.

After lunch, you leave the crater and continue toward the Ndutu area. As you approach the Southern Serengeti, the open grasslands come into view. This is where the Great Wildebeest Migration gathers during the calving season. Then you enjoy an afternoon game drive before arriving at your camp.

Then you explore the Ndutu plains, Lake Ndutu and the surrounding areas. Meanwhile, you search for huge wildebeest and zebra herds, newborn calves and predators. The many young animals attract lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals and other predators. As a result, you have excellent chances to witness dramatic wildlife interactions.

At midday, you enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness. Afterwards, you continue exploring Ndutu throughout the afternoon before returning to camp.

Day 04 :

Ndutu – Full-Day Great Migration & Predator Safari

Today, you enjoy another full day exploring the Ndutu area. Because you have two dedicated days in the calving grounds, your guide can follow the herds and search for the best wildlife sightings.

Depending on wildlife movements, you may explore the short-grass plains, woodland areas and lakes around Ndutu. For example, look for wildebeest giving birth, playful newborn calves and large zebra herds. You may also see lions following the migration, cheetahs hunting across the open plains and hyenas patrolling the area.

Ndutu – Arusha

First, you explore the short-grass plains in search of wildebeest herds, newborn calves, zebras and gazelles. You also look for predators such as lions, cheetahs and hyenas. The morning is an excellent time for wildlife photography, because the light is beautiful and animals are generally more active.

After the game drive, you begin your journey back to Arusha and enjoy the changing landscapes of northern Tanzania along the way. Finally, you arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon or evening.
