Itinerary

Day 01 :

Kilimanjaro Day Hike via Marangu Route

Start Point: Moshi or Arusha
Drive to Marangu Gate: (~1.5 hours from Moshi, ~2.5 hours from Arusha)

Your adventure begins early as you head to Marangu Gate (1,860 meters), the main entrance to Kilimanjaro National Park. Once you finish registration, you set off on a guided Kilimanjaro day hike. First, the trail leads through lush rainforest full of exotic birds, monkeys and towering trees.

Then you hike to Mandara Hut (2,700 meters), about 3–4 hours from the gate. Along the way, you enjoy scenic views and waterfalls, as well as diverse flora and fauna. After a rest and lunch at Mandara, you also explore the nearby Maundi Crater. From here, you then get sweeping views over Kenya and northern Tanzania. Finally, you walk back down to the gate.

Day 02 :

Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater

Start Point: Moshi or Arusha
Drive to Ngorongoro Crater: (~3–4 hours)

First, you depart early and travel to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then you descend 600 meters into the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, home to the densest concentration of wildlife in Africa.

During the day, you look for the Big Five (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard). You can also spot hippos, wildebeests, zebras and countless bird species. Around midday, you also enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the crater. Later, you drive to your lodge for the night.

Day 03 :

Lake Manyara National Park Safari then Arusha

Start Point: Karatu/Manyara Area
Drive to Lake Manyara Park Gate: (~30 minutes)

After breakfast, you then set off on a thrilling safari in Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions, flamingos and diverse ecosystems. Next, you explore lush groundwater forests, open savannah and the stunning soda lake, which teems with birdlife.

Meanwhile, keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons and hippos. Because the park is scenic and compact, it is ideal for a half-day game drive.

Finally, once your safari ends, you return to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward journey.
