Your adventure begins with an early-morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha, Moshi, or at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Enjoy a scenic drive to Marangu Gate, the main entrance to Mount Kilimanjaro National Park, where you'll complete registration formalities before beginning your hike. The trail winds through dense tropical rainforest, home to towering trees, colorful birds, blue monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and unique plant species. Your experienced mountain guide will share fascinating information about the mountain's ecology, history, and wildlife throughout the trek. After approximately 3–4 hours of hiking, you'll reach Mandara Hut (2,720 m), the first overnight hut for climbers ascending the Marangu Route. After enjoying a freshly prepared picnic lunch and taking in the stunning mountain scenery, you may walk to the nearby Maundi Crater, where panoramic views extend across northern Tanzania and into Kenya on clear days.

Following your visit, descend back through the rainforest to Marangu Gate, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel or airport.
