Itinerary

Day 01 :

Arusha / Moshi Londorossi Gate

Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Alternatively, we collect you from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK). Then enjoy a scenic drive to Londorossi Gate, the western entrance to Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. Here, you complete the registration before entering the park.

After a short transfer to the Lemosho Trailhead, begin your hike through one of Kilimanjaro’s most beautiful and untouched rainforests. Meanwhile, towering trees, giant ferns, moss-covered forest and abundant wildlife surround you. As a result, you soon feel the peaceful beauty that makes the Lemosho Route so special.

During the hike, your professional mountain guide introduces you to the mountain’s fascinating ecology. Your guide also shares stories about Kilimanjaro’s history, wildlife and local culture. Along the trail, you may spot blue monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys and colourful birds. You can also see unique plant species found only in this ecosystem.

Evening at Shira 1 Camp

As you approach Shira 1 Camp, the forest slowly opens up. Then, on clear days, magnificent views of Kibo Peak appear, one of the closest perspectives on any short Kilimanjaro trek.

After a delicious hot dinner prepared by your mountain cook, spend the evening relaxing beneath an incredible blanket of stars. Because there is almost no light pollution, it is one of Kilimanjaro’s best spots for the Milky Way. You can also enjoy countless constellations and the peaceful silence of the mountain.

Day 02 :

Shira 1 Camp Lemosho Trail – Londorossi Gate – Arusha / Moshi

First, wake up to fresh mountain air and enjoy breakfast surrounded by the peaceful rainforest. If the skies are clear, admire the spectacular views of Kibo Peak once again before you start your descent.

Then, after breakfast, hike back through the beautiful rainforest. On the way, enjoy one last chance to photograph the towering trees, the wildlife and the breathtaking scenery. Indeed, these make the Lemosho Route one of the finest hiking trails in Africa.

When you reach Londorossi Gate, meet your driver. Finally, transfer back to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi, or to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). This brings your unforgettable Mount Kilimanjaro adventure to a close.
