Itinerary

Day 01 :

Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Karatu

After breakfast, your professional safari guide meets you at your hotel in Arusha for a short safari briefing. Then you set off for Tarangire National Park.

When you arrive, you enjoy a full-day game drive in one of Tanzania’s most beautiful national parks. It is famous for its giant baobab trees, the seasonal Tarangire River and one of Africa’s largest elephant populations. During your game drive, you have excellent chances to see elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras and wildebeest. You may also spot buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, ostriches and many bird species.

At midday, you enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park. Afterwards, your wildlife adventure continues through the afternoon.

Later in the day, you drive to Karatu for dinner and the night.

Day 02 :

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, you continue your 4-Day Tanzania Family Safari with a scenic drive from Karatu to the legendary Serengeti National Park. The route crosses the spectacular Ngorongoro Highlands, with breathtaking views of the Tanzanian countryside.

As soon as you enter the Serengeti, your game drive begins. The park is famous for its golden plains, abundant wildlife and large predator populations. So it offers an unforgettable safari for the whole family. Also, depending on the season, you may witness the spectacular Great Migration.

Keep your eyes open for lions resting beneath acacia trees and cheetahs scanning the open plains. You may also see elephants, giraffes, hyenas, leopards, zebras, gazelles and many other species. Meanwhile, your guide helps the family discover the Serengeti’s fascinating wildlife and natural environment.

In the evening, you arrive at your camp. Then you enjoy dinner and relax beneath Africa’s star-filled sky after an exciting day.

Day 03 :

Serengeti National Park – Karatu

Wake up early for breakfast. Then you continue your 4-Day Tanzania Family Safari with a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. Early morning is one of the best times for wildlife viewing, because predators return from their night hunts. Many animals also become active before the day heats up.

Next, you explore more of the Serengeti’s varied landscapes and look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles and plenty of plains game. Meanwhile, your family learns about the animals and ecosystems from your experienced guide.

After a picnic lunch, you begin the scenic drive back through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward Karatu. During the drive, the vast Serengeti plains give way to the beautiful highlands.

Finally, you reach your lodge in the late afternoon. There you can relax, enjoy dinner and rest after another memorable day of your 4-Day Tanzania Family Safari.

Day 04 :

Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, you descend about 600 meters into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. It is one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The crater floor holds an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. For example, you may see black rhinos, elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, zebras and wildebeest, as well as hyenas, jackals and flamingos. It is also widely considered one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five in a single day.

At midday, you enjoy a picnic lunch at the famous hippo pool. Then you continue your game drive.

In the afternoon, you drive up out of the crater. Finally, you head back to Arusha or transfer directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
