Itinerary

After breakfast in Arusha, you meet your safari group and driver-guide. Then you depart for Tarangire National Park, known for its massive baobab trees and large elephant herds. Here you enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch inside the park. Along the Tarangire River, you can also spot lions, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests and possibly leopards.

Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge or campsite near Mto wa Mbu or Karatu.

After breakfast, you set off on a scenic drive to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. First, you travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with optional stops at Maasai villages or viewpoints. Once you enter the Serengeti, you enjoy a game drive on the way to the central plains (Seronera). Here, predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs roam freely.

Spend the whole day exploring the vast wilderness of Serengeti National Park, home to the Big Five and the spectacular Great Migration (seasonal). Depending on the time of year, you may also see thousands of wildebeest and zebras on the move. During the game drives, your guide tracks predators and visits wildlife-rich areas along the Seronera River.

After breakfast, you enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti. Then you begin your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Today brings a safari highlight: a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most wildlife-dense areas in Africa. During a half-day game drive on the crater floor, you may spot black rhinos, hippos, lions, hyenas and large herds of wildebeest. After the game drive, you return to Arusha for the evening.

On your final day, you take a short drive to Arusha National Park, one of Tanzania’s most scenic parks. It is also known for its lush forest, Mt. Meru views and diverse wildlife. Finally, you return to Arusha in the afternoon.

When is the best time to go on this safari?

The safari runs year-round. However, the best wildlife viewing is during the dry season (June to October), especially if you want to see the Great Migration in the Serengeti.
