Itinerary

Day 01 :

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Highlights: Elephant herds, Baobab trees, classic savannah landscapes

Your adventure begins with a morning pickup in Arusha. Then you enjoy a scenic 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, home to large elephant populations and iconic baobab trees. Next, you spend a full day on game drives, with a picnic lunch inside the park. Meanwhile, watch for lions, zebras, giraffes and a variety of birdlife in this less-crowded gem of Tanzania.

Day 02 :

Tarangire to Central Serengeti

Highlights: Scenic drive, wildlife en route, afternoon game drive in Serengeti
Accommodation: Seronera public campsite

First, after an early breakfast, you set off for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you also enjoy scenic views. Then you arrive in the central Serengeti (Seronera area) in time for an afternoon game drive. This region is also renowned for its high density of predators, such as lions, leopards and cheetahs.

Day 03 :

Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Highlights: Sunrise game drive, big cats, Great Migration (seasonal), hippo pools
Accommodation: Seronera public campsite

Today you spend a full day exploring the endless plains of the Serengeti. First, an early morning game drive lets you catch predators in action. Afterwards, you return to camp for breakfast. Then you continue with mid-morning and afternoon drives. Depending on the time of year, you may also witness part of the Great Wildebeest Migration. Finally, you return to camp for dinner and storytelling by the campfire.

Day 04 :

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim

Highlights: Morning game drive, Maasai bomas (optional), crater rim camping
Accommodation: Simba Campsite on the Crater Rim

First, enjoy one last morning game drive in the Serengeti. Then you drive toward Ngorongoro Crater. On the way, you can also make an optional stop at a Maasai village to learn about local culture (extra cost). Finally, you reach the crater rim by evening and camp at Simba Campsite, with stunning views into the crater below.

Day 05 :

Ngorongoro Crater Tour – Return to Arusha

Highlights: Descend into the crater, game drive, picnic lunch, return to Arusha
Accommodation: Not included (end of safari)

After an early breakfast, you descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a thrilling half-day game drive. Here you can spot the endangered black rhino, herds of buffalo, zebras and hippos. You may also see lions hunting in the open grasslands. Later, enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool. Afterward, you drive back to Arusha and arrive in the late afternoon or early evening.

The package includes park entry fees, a professional guide and a 4x4 safari vehicle. It also covers accommodation, meals and bottled water, as well as all scheduled game drives.

What’s not included in the package?

The package does not include international flights, travel insurance or visa fees. In addition, tips, personal expenses and optional activities such as hot air balloon rides are extra.

When is the best time to go on this safari?

The safari operates all year round. However, the best wildlife viewing is during the dry season (June to October), especially if you want to see the Great Migration in the Serengeti.

What kind of accommodation is provided?

You can choose between mid-range lodges, luxury tented camps or budget options. All of them are also clean and secure. In addition, they are located near or inside the parks.
