Your day begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha, where you will meet your professional guide and depart for a nearby Maasai community.
Maasai Cultural Experience
Arrive at the Maasai village and meet members of the local community. Your local Maasai host will introduce you to their traditional way of life and explain the importance of family, livestock, community, traditions, and the surrounding environment. During your visit, you may experience:
- Visit a traditional Maasai boma
- Learn how traditional Maasai houses are constructed
- Meet local Maasai families
- Learn about cattle and livestock keeping

Traditional Lunch
After the cultural experience, enjoy a traditional Tanzanian lunch featuring locally prepared dishes. Depending on the location and arrangement, lunch may include rice, vegetables, beans, meat, bananas, chapati, or other local specialties.
Coffee Farm Experience
After lunch, continue to a local coffee farm or coffee-growing area.
Northern Tanzania is famous for high-quality Arabica coffee, particularly around the slopes of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro.
At the coffee farm, learn about the complete coffee-making process.
From Coffee Cherry to Your Cup
Your local coffee host will explain and demonstrate: How coffee is planted and cultivated; how coffee plants are cared for; how ripe coffee cherries are harvested; how the coffee beans are separated and processed; how coffee beans are dried; how coffee is traditionally roasted; how the roasted beans are ground; how fresh Tanzanian coffee is prepared. You will have the opportunity to participate in the traditional roasting and preparation process before enjoying a freshly brewed cup of local coffee.
Coffee Tasting
Relax and enjoy your freshly prepared Tanzanian coffee while learning more about local coffee farming and the importance of coffee production to communities in northern Tanzania. You can also purchase locally produced coffee to take home as a memorable souvenir.
Return to Arusha
In the late afternoon, begin your journey back to Arusha. You will be dropped off at your hotel, or another agreed location in Arusha, marking the end of your Maasai Village & Coffee Cultural Experience.
