Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your accommodation in Arusha. Your expert Serengeti Wildlife Safaris guide collects you. Then you set off on a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park. It is one of Tanzania’s most underrated gems, yet it teems with rich biodiversity and iconic landscapes.
As soon as you enter the park, your morning game drive begins. First, you cross vast savannahs dotted with the ancient, towering baobab trees that Tarangire is famous for.
The park is also known for its large elephant herds. They often gather along the Tarangire River, a vital water source during the dry season. Along the way, you may also see lions lounging under acacia trees. In addition, herds of zebras and wildebeest cross the plains, while elegant giraffes browse the treetops.
By midday, you stop at one of the designated picnic sites inside the park. Here, you enjoy a delicious packed lunch surrounded by nature. Keep your camera ready, because wildlife often passes close by during mealtimes.
After lunch, your afternoon game drive continues deeper into the park. Next, you explore more remote areas. With luck, you may spot elusive animals such as leopards and cheetahs. You may even see rare species such as the fringe-eared oryx and greater kudu.
