Depending on your preferred activities, you can go snorkeling or scuba diving to explore the colourful coral reefs and marine life around the island. Alternatively, relax on the beach, swim in the warm tropical water or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Nungwi as your Zanzibar beach and safari holiday begins.

After breakfast, you transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your flight to Kogatende Airstrip in the Northern Serengeti. As you approach the Serengeti, the landscape changes dramatically from tropical coastline to vast African wilderness.

At Kogatende, you meet your professional safari guide and begin your first Northern Serengeti game drive. The Northern Serengeti is famous for its wildlife and its role in the Great Migration, especially around the Mara River.

Depending on the season, you may see large herds of wildebeest and zebra, as well as lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, cheetahs and hyenas. Afterwards, you continue to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of the Serengeti wilderness.

Wake up to the sounds of the African wilderness and get ready for a full day in Northern Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, you set out with your experienced safari guide on an extended game drive. The area offers excellent wildlife viewing, with open plains, rocky landscapes, river valleys and abundant animals.

During the right migration season, you may witness the Great Migration. Depending on natural conditions, you may also see wildebeest and zebra gathering around the Mara River. In addition, look out for lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles and many bird species.

However, Mara River crossings are natural events, so we cannot guarantee them. Wildlife movements depend on weather, water levels and animal behaviour. In the evening, you return to camp for dinner and relaxation.

After breakfast, you begin your scenic transfer from the Northern to the Central Serengeti. This is more than just a transfer, because the journey offers extra chances to see wildlife. Whenever your guide spots wildlife activity along the route, you stop or take a short detour.

As you travel south, the landscape gradually changes toward the Seronera area, one of the most productive wildlife regions in the Serengeti. Look out for elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes and antelopes. Later, you arrive at your accommodation in the Central Serengeti and enjoy a relaxing evening in the most famous national park in Tanzania.

Enjoy breakfast before you leave the Central Serengeti and continue toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Today brings another major highlight of your Tanzania safari: the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater.

First, you descend into the crater for a game drive through one of the most extraordinary wildlife environments in Africa. Its grasslands, forests, wetlands and lake support a remarkable concentration of animals. During your game drive, look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas and gazelles. With luck, you may also see the endangered black rhino.

After your crater game drive, you climb out of the crater and continue to Karatu, where you spend the night.

After breakfast, you leave Karatu and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant population, ancient baobab trees and diverse wildlife. Then enjoy a final game drive, searching for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, antelopes and many bird species. Meanwhile, your safari guide chooses the best areas for wildlife viewing based on current conditions.

After the game drive, you continue to your departure point, either Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport, depending on your onward travel plans. Finally, your 6-day AFCON Beach & Safari Escape comes to an end, with unforgettable memories of tropical Zanzibar beaches and the spectacular wildlife of Northern Tanzania.
