Your 5-day Tanzania safari adventure begins in the morning with a pickup from your hotel in Arusha. First, your professional safari guide gives you a safari briefing. Then you drive to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most beautiful and wildlife-rich parks. It is especially famous for its large elephant population, ancient baobab trees, seasonal wetlands and diverse wildlife.

During your Tarangire National Park game drive, watch for elephants, lions, leopards, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and many bird species. The Tarangire River provides vital water for wildlife, especially in the dry season, so it attracts large numbers of animals. Meanwhile, your experienced guide chooses the best areas for wildlife viewing and photography, based on the season and animal movements.

After your game drive, you continue to Karatu, a peaceful town near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Then enjoy dinner and relax at your lodge, ready for tomorrow’s exciting Ngorongoro Crater safari.

After an early breakfast, you leave Karatu and enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for one of the highlights of your Tanzania safari. First, you descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a full wildlife experience. It is one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife areas, and it lets you view many animals in a fairly compact space.

During your Ngorongoro Crater game drive, look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, gazelles and other wildlife. With some luck, you may also spot the endangered black rhino. The crater’s varied habitats, such as grassland, woodland, wetlands and the famous soda lake, support a remarkable concentration of wildlife.

Afterwards, you drive up out of the crater and continue to the legendary Serengeti National Park. As you enter the Serengeti, the landscape opens into vast plains, and you can often see wildlife along the route. Next, you continue to the Central Serengeti, also known as the Seronera area. This is one of the most productive wildlife regions in the park. Finally, you arrive at your lodge for dinner and the night.

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast. Then you begin your scenic journey from the Central to the Northern Serengeti. Today’s drive is also a game drive, because your guide looks for wildlife along the way rather than simply transferring between camps. For example, you may see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes, lions and other predators.

As you travel north, the landscape gradually becomes more rugged and dramatic. The northern Serengeti is famous for its rolling hills, rocky kopjes, river valleys and abundant wildlife. In season, it is also well known for the Great Migration and the Mara River ecosystem.

Depending on the time of year, you may see large herds of wildebeest and zebras moving through the area. However, river crossings are natural events, so we cannot guarantee them. They depend entirely on the weather, water levels and animal behaviour. Later, you arrive at Safari Haven in the Northern Serengeti. There you can relax and enjoy the peaceful wilderness after an exciting day on safari.

Rise early for an exciting full-day game drive in the Northern Serengeti. This is one of the most adventurous days of your African wildlife safari, with more time to explore the northern ecosystem. Your experienced guide follows the latest wildlife activity and chooses the best areas for game viewing.

Depending on the season, you may meet large herds of wildebeest and zebras. You may also see lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hyenas, cheetahs and other wildlife. If your safari falls in the Great Migration season, you may also watch the herds around the Mara River region. However, wildlife movements are unpredictable, so we cannot guarantee any particular sighting or river crossing.

After an exciting day in the Northern Serengeti, you begin the transfer back to the Central Serengeti. Along the route, you enjoy another game drive as you return to the Seronera area. Finally, you arrive at Signature Serengeti for dinner, relaxation and your last night in the Serengeti.

Enjoy your final morning in the magnificent Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, you set off on your last Serengeti game drive and transfer. This is your final chance to enjoy the park’s extraordinary landscapes and wildlife before you head to your departure point. Meanwhile, your guide makes the most of the time and searches for wildlife along the route.

Depending on your departure plans, you then continue by road to Arusha or go to the right airport for your onward journey. As your 5-day AFCON Ultimate Wildlife Safari in Tanzania comes to an end, you take home unforgettable memories. These include Tarangire’s elephants and baobabs, the incredible Ngorongoro Crater and the vast wilderness of the Central and Northern Serengeti.
