Itinerary

After landing at Arusha Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our friendly safari team and begin a scenic two-hour drive toward Lake Manyara National Park. Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, this lush park is renowned for its rich biodiversity and its famous tree-climbing lions.
As you journey through the park, enjoy sightings of elephants, baboons, hippos, and an impressive variety of birdlife. Around midday, you’ll take a break at a scenic picnic site equipped with restrooms—an ideal spot to relax and enjoy your lunch surrounded by nature.
In the late afternoon, you’ll exit the park and head toward the nearby village of Mto wa Mbu. Here, you’ll have a chance to immerse yourself in local culture with a brief stop to sample traditional Tanzanian food and drinks before continuing on to your lodge for a well-deserved rest.
Overnight: Suricata Boma
Meals: Dinner

On your second day, after an early breakfast, you'll set out for the legendary Ngorongoro Crater—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Africa to spot all of the Big Five. The earlier we begin, the better your chances of witnessing lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and the rare black rhino in action.
As you descend into the vast, bowl-shaped caldera, you’ll be surrounded by dramatic scenery and an incredible density of wildlife. Covering roughly 260 square kilometres (100 square miles), the crater is home to over 30,000 animals and more than 500 bird species.
Midday, you’ll stop at a designated picnic site near a hippo pool to enjoy your lunch and take a short break. Afterward, you'll continue exploring the crater floor before beginning your return drive to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
You’ll arrive at the airport to catch your flight to Zanzibar, ready for the next chapter of your adventure.

Frequent Asked Question

How fit do I need to be?

No special fitness level is required. Game drives are conducted from a comfortable 4×4 vehicle. You will do only short walks at picnic stops.

What is the best time of year for this safari?

The dry season—June through October—offers the most reliable wildlife viewing, as animals concentrate around water sources. However, shoulder months (May & November) can offer fewer crowds and lush scenery.

Can children join this safari?

Yes. Most lodges accept children aged 6 and above. Younger children may not be permitted on game drives due to safety regulations. Please let us know ages in advance so we can arrange appropriate accommodation and guide seating.

What should I pack?

We recommend:

  • Lightweight, neutral-colored clothing (khaki, olive, tan)
  • A warm layer for early‑morning and late‑afternoon drives
  • Sun protection: hat, sunglasses, high‑SPF sunscreen
  • Comfortable walking shoes or lightweight hiking boots
  • Binoculars and a camera with extra batteries/memory cards
  • Insect repellent and any personal medications
  • A small daypack for essentials

Are meals flexible for dietary restrictions?

Yes. Please inform us of any vegetarian, vegan, gluten‑free, or other dietary requirements at the time of booking so our lodge chefs can prepare accordingly.
