Itinerary

Your adventure begins with an early-morning pickup from Arusha, Moshi, Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), or Arusha Airport (ARK), then a drive to Marangu Gate. After completing park registration, begin your trek through the lush rainforest of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park, where you may spot blue monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, colorful birds, and towering indigenous trees. Arrive at Mandara Hut in the afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay. If time allows, take a short walk to Moundi Crater for beautiful panoramic views.

Today's trek crosses the dramatic alpine desert known as the Saddle, a vast landscape stretching between Mawenzi Peak and Kibo Peak. As you gain altitude, enjoy spectacular mountain scenery and panoramic views while your guides help you maintain a steady pace. Upon arrival at Kibo Hut, enjoy an early dinner, organize your summit gear, and rest before beginning your midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.
